Description
Here is a vintage E F Pfretzschner Junior Viola Model E107 - This a hand made instrument from 1963, shop tested by Scherl & Roth in 1964. This would be a nice upgrade for the mid level student who is looking to move up from a beginner instrument. The Viola comes with a hard shell plush case, but there is no bow. The Viola body is 13 1/4" long. Please note the beautiful grain on this violin, nearly a 3D visual effect on the back with the wood grain reflecting under the original varnishI can see with a mirror there were cleats installed to secure each small crack on the bottom of each F opening, also I see a crack above the main brace was secured as well. I think this is an indication that the Viola was of a high enough value to have a Luthier shore up the minor hairline cracks. I installed brand new D,addario Prelude Medium Junior Viola Strings and the Viola plays easily.
The Viola body is 13 1/4" long and I believe it is a 3/4 Viola based on the chart below.
