Very Fine Chinese Porcelain Blue & White Phoenix Bird Bowl & Cover
6 1/2"h x 5 11/16" top dia,
Jiajing reign mark
.
Deep bowl with sides incurving to 1/2" foot ring.  Dome cover slightly flared & with slight overhang at rim.  Flared cup form knop with brown edge.  Ming blue & white design of 4 phoenix birds amid floral scrolling above a border of false gadroons centered with cross pattern dots.  Cover with alternating bands of ruji, dots & floral sprigs.
Six character mark of Jiajing, "Da Ming Jia Jing Nian Zhi".  Unglazed foot rim edge, top rim edge & inner cover rim edge.  Fine tap ring.
A very fine quality piece of excellent form.  No damage of any kind.
