    The Dream Team — made up of eleven future Basketball Hall of Fame players — steamrolled through the eight-game competition in Barcelona, Spain, to easily capture the Gold Medal for Team USA. They won their games by an average of 43.8 points. It was the first time that the Olympics had allowed professionals to compete in basketball. The Dream Team has come to be known as the greatest team ever assembled.
