    Description

Found in a notable Dallas estate: a handsome Meiji style gilt painted bronze censer bowl.
While missing its mesh lid, it is nevertheless very interestingly hand painted in a fired gilt design. Decoration includes kanji and herons. The two swiveling slim squared wire handles are riveted cleanly and can be positioned at any angle. This 5.75" diameter bowl sat on a base or ring, it has a belled bottom. Handles up, it's 5.75" tall. Fired gold kanji signature on base.
There is, regretably, no provenance with exception of the respected home it came from. Examples like this simple fired surface bronze was a Meiji (c.1900, pre-War I) style. They often had a domed wire mesh lid, missing here. Otherwise, the condition is good, with expected wear to the gilt, minor scratches in the patination. Overall state is good and as-found; no cleaning has been done. Please review the pictures and ask questions.
This ships from DFW carefully, domestically. Please inquire about international shipment prior to purchase. Please be a good EBay citizen and fulfill PayPal upon purchase. Questions welcomed!
