Natural Opalite is a stone that can be multiple colors and is mined in various parts of the world.
Not a true opal, This "glass Like" rock does not exhibit the "cat’s eye" effect that is typically displayed in opal. But it's surface geometry is fun to work with.
Your 8 oz.bag.of stones will be typical of what is shown and averages about 10-14 stones (depending upon their weight). Glassy, waxy looking, fractured sharply on edges. Pieces shown are actual random examples of this Parcel & Gem's colorization
Opalite Takes a nice Polish, each rough stone ranges roughly in size from 1/2" dia to 3/4" dia.

Natural Pink Opalite From Australia. It's always nice to try a new gemstone material and add it to your collection. While This waxy looking "glass Like" rock does not exhibit the "cat’s eye" effect that is typically displayed in opal-it does have attractive surfaces. A Few pieces may exhibit dendritic like formations.The white with pink to gray coloring is unusual and should make some beautiful jewelry. Great for cabbing and takes a nice polish.See images above for random examples.This bag weighs 8 oz. and will contain an average of 12-18 nice sized pieces.
