    Description

During the past 30 some years, I have been collecting, using and researching on vintage Pentax K2DMD body with its motor drive gears and power sources.  I had sold most of 35mm SLR motor bodies and their appropriate motor drive gears and power sources. This very rare K2DMD body & its motor drive system is one of very few of my collections. They all will be liquidated in the next few weeks. Almost all of my collections are in at least Excellent Plus cosmetic condition and work excellently as designed.
Today you are bidding on a black Pentax K2DMD motor body and its motor drive system. The included items are listed below:
    (1) Black Pentax K2DMD body (S.N. 7168161, made in Japan). An OEM K-Mt body cap is attached for protection. The body requires two LR-44 button cells for power (included, two additional new LR-44 cells are also provided for backup use).
    (2) Color photo copy of Instructions manual for K2DMD and Motor Drive MD (11 pages).
    (3) Motor Drive MD (S.N. 1022799, made in Japan). It has a film number setting wheel and circular button for single and variable speed control.
    (4) Battery Grip M (made in Japan). It requires 12 AA-alkaline cells (included). The original connecting port cover is intact.
    (5) Power Cord M (made in Japan). It connects the Battery Grip M and Motor Drive MD for remote motor speed control. The original connecting port cover is also intact.
    (6) Slide-in cover for view finder window.
    (7) Pentax K2DMD 8x12 color literature (6 pages).
    (8) Some long handled cotton swabs for cleaning the battery terminals and the battery contacts inside the Battery Grip M.
All components of this Pentax K2DMD and its motor drive system had been completely tested and checked as I did for all of my previous listings. Cosmetically, the Motor body is in Excellent Plus condition. The top plate has slight brassing and scratches on top of prism finder and back edge of the top plate. The shutter curtains are in good shape . The bottom plate has two slight depressions and one scratch that exposed the brass. The film back cover is very clean condition with some superficial lines of scratches inside of the film reminder frame. The motor drive MD is also in Excellent Plus condition with some user signs such as brassing, rubbing marks & scratches. The view finder window and screen are clean with very few tiny dust particles after viewing through the view finder. The Power Grip M is in near mint condition.
Mechanically, electrically and optically, all components work excellently as designed. The shutter speeds of K2DMD body work excellently for slow and fast speeds though no bench tests to confirm their accuracy.
Since I don't have the flash adapter, no test was performed to see whether the flash shoe under the film rewind crank works or not.
The finder screen has very few tiny particles. I did detect a faint line in the center. From my experience, the mounting of finder to the body requires a firm tap on the top to complete the gear engagement. To demount the finder, you may need to use a dime coin to push the button on the back side of top plate all the way in to dis-engage the finder from the body. The 24/2.8 lens works fine, but the focusing ring feels kind of stiff in short middle section.
The battery contacts of the Power Pack Grip had been cleaned. From my experience, almost all the battery contacts of Battery Pack are subject to natural oxidation if they are in storage for long period. Even the "look like new" ones have the same syndrome. I find it is necessary to use a long handled cotton swab to clean the battery contacts with household vinegar or dilute acid solution. Sometimes, even the cleaning of AA battery contacts is necessary. T
he "S" amd "C" mode of motor speed modes on the Pistol Grip and Motor Drive F-36 work as designed. The dial wheels of the F-36 had been individually checked and all work as expected. It is important to turn the film counter dial to "36" before activating the shutter. Otherwise, the motor will not turn.
The package will be sent to domestic buyer via USPS Priority Large Flat Rate Box with delivery confirmation for .50. The invoice may include the state retail tax depending on where you reside. For international buyer, it will be handled via Global Shipping Program (GSP) which had been proven to be cost effective and fast. You will receive an invoice directly from the manager of Global shipping Program at the end of auction. The invoice may include the custom duty of individual country. Paypal will be the only payment method. The package will only be sent to Paypal confirmed address. No exception. For those countries which no GSP service is provided, the USPS published retail price for Priority Large Flat Rate Box will be applied. The cost will be much higher than the price charged by GSP.
Because this is a liquidation sale of more than 30 years of my collection, the return will only be allowed if the items are not as described or DOA (dead on arrival). In this case, the return label will be provided.  No other returns will be honored. Sorry.
In my more than 30 years of Buy & Sell on eBay platform, I encountered two dishonest buyers: (1) The first buyer filed a complaint that my Nikon F100 body was filthy. The matter of fact is that my F100 was in near mint collectible condition without any defects at all. I issued the refund without checking closely the serial number and working condition. A few days later, I found out the returned F100 has the wrong serial number and a "bc" code on the screen which meant his own F100 body has issues and would not work at all. I was fooled by this dishonest guy!  (2) The second buyer won the auction of my rare collector grade Leica R lens. After a few days, he asked me to accept his return claiming he did not like the lens. Later I found out this dishonest professional photographer buyer actually used my lens to complete his assignment! In other words, he did not have to pay the rental fee to use the expensive Leica lens!!
Thank you for your interest in my auction and good luck bidding.
