Description
You are bidding on a very fine old 4/4 viola, labeled Joannes Franciscus Pressenda q. Raphael fecit Taurini anno Domini 1832. This is a wonderful, solo level instrument with a charming, very beautiful voice. Despite a smaller 385 mm length over the back it is built with taller ribs and flat arching, making the sound production of a fine quality with a great depth and a proper diapason from a nice bass to a silvery upper register. This comfortable to play fine instrument is highly recommended to a leader of a chamber orchestra. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks, fine ebony set up, master made bridge by Schreiber & Lugert and Thomastik strings. The viola has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The whole length of the viola is 637 mm and the back 385 mm. Shipping by DHL or FedEx is possible and would be claimed according to your personal requirements.
