NightStar shake flashlight with green LED preserves night vision and is excellent for outdoor adventures; especially, fishing where some fish species are attracted to green light, spotting certain insects that are harmful to humans and pets, and identifying certain mineral specimens such as
zinc silicate, willemite
which are well known for its extremely bright green fluorescence, though it can fluoresce in other colors, as well.
The narrow green led light beam with minimal spill, approximately 520 to 550 nanometers, enhances penetration of fog, smoke, and water relative to white light. Lower color temperature light i.e. light with longer wavelengths is reflected less by rain, fog, and smoke. No light “cuts” through smoke and makes objects totally visible. Visibility depends on the density of the smoke and its ignition source i.e. wood fire vs. chemical fire. Less heavy smoke allows deeper penetration of light.
