June/July 1973 Japanese tour, in support of
On the Corner
— a studio album, produced by Teo Macero and released on 11th October, 1972 by Columbia Records. Recorded at Columbia Studio E in New York City in June and July 1972, the album continued Davis’s exploration of jazz fusion, bringing together funk rhythms with the influence of experimental composer Karlheinz Stockhausen and free jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman.
