Description: Lot (7) 1890-1919 Chinese Mudmen Holding Gourds, Broom, Staff, Plate, Blade, etc
Lot of (7) antique Chinese "Mudmen," export ware figurines featuring majolica glaze, a variety of unusual accessories, crazing throughout, individualized faces, and all stamped on base with the text, "China," indicating that they were produced after 1890 and prior to 1920. The figures hold what appear to be the blade of a sword, a blue pumpkin, a decorative plate, a cabbage and staff with gourd, a dumpling or clam, a tiny satchel, and a broom.
Approximate Measurements: All figures around 4 1/2" tall, 2" at widest point, and 1 3/4" deep.
Condition:
Very good, antique condition, as found. Chipping to extremities on figure with blade. No other visible damage.
