Lionel Leo Hampton (1908 – 2002) was an American jazz vibraphonist, pianist, percussionist, and bandleader.
Hampton worked with jazz musicians from Teddy Wilson, Benny Goodman, and Buddy Rich, to Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, and Quincy Jones.
In 1992, he was inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, and he was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 1996. [wiki]
Stapled wraps, 12 by 9 inches; 16 unnumbered pages. This was a program sold at on site concerts by Lionel Hampton and his concert group. His band Included Gladys Hampton, Lorene "Betty Be Bop" Carter, Sonny Parker, and Curley Hamner.
Illustrated with black/white photographs with artistically designed text. The photos include all the band members and in addition other nonmusical celebrities: Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella & Don Newcombe of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Larry Doby of the Cleveland Indians and boxing greats Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson
