Edo Ko Imari Porcelain Five Lobes Bowl
8 1/2" dia x 2"h, c.
late 18th century

Steeply flared sides & gently scalloped edge in flower form.  Characteristic underglaze purple-blue & overglaze iron-red with spare additions of aubergine, green & gilt.
Natural significant wear to the decoration.  Fine tight internal hairline & associated very shallow flake.  Some glaze filled dents at the edge & some small nicks & chips.
