    How do you tumble glass?

Crushed glass is about a 5.5 on the Mohs scale, and can bruise easily in a tumbler if not done correctly.  So for best results, follow these guidelines:
    1.  Fill your tumbler barrel 2/3 to 3/4 full of crushed glass (do not mix with any types of stones), if you are tumbling larger glass use plastic pellets to fill in the spaces between the glass to help it glide vice crash against each other in the tumbling process.  Plastic pellets is also recommended for some medium size pieces if there is not enough smaller glass to buffer the tumble.
    2.  Add in 1-2 Tbsp 220 grit (aluminum oxide or silicon carbide) for a 3 pound barrel.  Tumble for 3-4 days until you like the shape.
    3.  Tumble second step in 1-2 Tbsp 500 or 600 grit for 3-4 days.  Add plastic pellets as filler as needed to maintain 2/3 - 3/4 full barrel.
    4.  Third tumble in 1-2 Tbsp 1000 grit for 3 days.  Add plastic pellets as filler if needed to maintain 2/3 to 3/4 full barrel.
    5.  And finally, 1 Tbsp aluminum oxide polish for 3 days.  Add plastic pellets as filler as needed to maintain 2/3 to 3/4 full barrel.
At any point you can stop the tumbling process and the glass will have varying degrees of a frosted look as you would find on beach glass.  Do all 5 steps for a gem quality shine.
