CANON AE MOTOR DRIVE FN WITH AA Battery Pack FN for the Canon F1 Camera!
This was Canon's answer to the Nikon's rapid drives that news reporters and sports photogs were using back in the 1970's
This one has the Battery pack as seperate - they did also make a Ni-Cad pack, and I guess you build it with either was their thinking.
These were very well made, as is the Canon F1 - it looks complete, and nothing wrong... I do see a very small crack on the end of the name plate in the corner but it's not affecting anything as I can tell. - it's so small I almost missed it!
I don't have an F1 here to fully test this, but I put fresh AA's in the cartridge and it will go into Rewind and will move forward if I put the selector in H, which shoots 5 frames a second I beleive - you can download the manual for this online as a PDF.
I think the High is 5fps, the Low is 3.5fps and then you can also use Single as well. - Im assuming the S mode and L modes need a connection to the camera to work, so as I say, it has not been fully tested. and of course it has off too.
It's got some marks and such from use, but not bad for a 40+ year old item! -  As I say, the battery unit can be removed, but I forgot to show this in the photos, but it does come off if you want it too. - I think it's great since it also doubles as a vertical grip and has a shutter release there as well.
