Materials: Black iron.
Presumed age: 19th century or earlier.
Lot of 20 old and authentic Nkissi "Sombe" black iron coins, from Sierra Leone.
Such currencies were used until the end of the 19th century. They served as veritable currencies of exchange.
Frequently
used for the purchase of cattle, these currencies could also be used to buy women.
