    Description

    Antique Nippon Japan Porcelain Cherry Blossom Branches on Yellow 5" Ginger Jar for sale.  Made between 1891 to 1921.  5 inches tall.  It's adorable.  The condition of the jar and lid are excellent but the inner lid has a repair.  Being sold as found condition.  It had potpourri in it, which i removed.   I found the following information on the internet about the use of the word Nippon, which is the only mark on the bottom of the jar.
    Japanese porcelain made for export to the United States from 1891 to 1921 is called "
    Nippon
    Porcelain" because the word "
    Nippon
    " was on each piece. The word "
    Nippon
    " was required by the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890. ... Any mark with "
    Nippon
    " had to be made before 1921 when the word was banned from U.S. imports.
