Antique Khmer Stoneware Head from CAMBODIA
Antique Khmer sandstone head from Cambodia, it is indeed a "period" piece - I am witnessing the wear of the headdress (hundreds of years of rain have made it almost smooth). However, I think the facial features have been strengthened at some point. Mounted on a plinth.
This is genuine khmer period sandstone Buddha head - the proof of this is the wear of the motifs of the head attracts, only centuries of rain can wear down stone like this. I do think however that the facial features were reinforced at some stage. If you need more photos just ask using the message system. The head has been mounted on a base.
