    Description

Ancient Thai Ban Chiang BiChrome Handmade Clay Vessel 11.75 Inch 400BC To 200 AD.
Beautiful example from the Ban Chiang archeological site in Thailand where local people in the Ban Chiang region unearthed some red decorated pottery in 1966. Archeologists took interest and originally dated the pieces as old as 4420 BCE although there is controversy around dating. Others have dated these pieces to 400 BCE to 200 AD based on technique and design.
The red spiral motif is visible all around from foot to rim. It's a very nice piece.
Measures 11 3/4" tall, 7 3/4" in diameter at the rim, and 8 3/4" in diameter at the widest point.
    Weighs 5 pounds, 14 ounces.
