Introduced in 1975, the Nikkor 28-45mm f4.5 was the first ever wide-angle zoom lens for a 35mm SLR camera. Wide-angle lenses for SLR cameras must use a "retrofocus" optical design, to allow sufficient clearance for the reflex mirror action. This Nikkor lens, employing 9 multicoated glass elements, was considered revolutionary at its introduction. It is in nice condition and good working order for its age of almost 50 years, with clean & clear optics, smooth focus and zoom rings, and snappy oil-free diaphragm blades. The front of the lens barrel shows a little cosmetic wear from normal use, otherwise it is in excellent condition. It comes with the original front and rear lens caps. This is a non-AI lens. so it cannot be used on Nikon DSLR cameras, but is can be used on Nikon (and other brand) mirrorless cameras through an appropriate adapter. Shipping will be .95 to US addresses.
