Description
This is a used, vintage viola labeled: Ernst Heinrich Roth, Bubenreuth-Erlangen 1957, Made in West-Germany, Reproduction of Antonius Stradivarius, Cremona 1700. This nicely crafted viola has a warm, deep and even tone, combined with the manageable size of a smaller-bodied viola (under 16".) This viola is finished with the typical oil-based formulation the Roth workshop instruments are known for. The viola is in good condition with none of the usual cracks common to stringed instruments. There is one small check in the upper right face of the scroll (see photo), but it appears to be shallow and somewhat superficial in nature. The finish is worn in the normal fashion, but in overall good condition. This viola features the standard Roth label and internal branding, and is fitted with ebony components and Dominant strings. Genuine Roth violas of this vintage and condition can sell for well in excess of ,000. We're offering this viola (including a genuine Bobelock oblong case and wooden bow) for only ,950 plus shipping. This is an as-is, final sale with no returns, refunds or exchanges, with no guarantees to it's authenticity or origin. No international orders or shipping, USA sales only.
