    Description

This auction is for an original "Dance Topics" bulletin which would have been given away at the Palias Royale Ballroom, 107 W. Colfax Ave, South Bend, Indiana which advertises Billy Eckstine, the George Shearing Trio, and Count Basie and his big band in concert one night only on Tuesday, October 7th (1952). The bulletin measures 8-3/8" x 11" and has four pages. There is a half page article titled "A Surprise Treat for Everyone" talking about the concert advertised on the cover. Tickets were .50 general admission and .00 for reserved. Below that it mentions that Hank Snow and his Orchestra would be Coming Soon. Another page mentions that the Polka King, Frankie Yankovic was coming on October 12. And on October 29th, Mercury recording artist Chuck Foster was to appear. There are a couple mentions of nearby University Notre Dame including the football schedule. The bulletin is in good condition - the left half of the back cover is yellowed / toned - there is an 11" vertical crease through the middle from being folded in half - there are seven 8-3/8" horizontal creases from the bulletin being folded into eighths (probably to fit into the pocket of the person who went to the Ballroom back in 1952) - there are a few other smaller creases.
