    Description

This high-quality antique vanity jar is topped with a lovely Art Nouveau crown of heavy repoussé sterling in a design of trailing nasturtiums. It's marked: "Sterling, 925, FINE, 1502, Nasturtium" but I don't see the maker's mark.
This has been elegantly engraved with the date "May, 1906" and the monogram "DBW." Perhaps this was a wedding gift to the bride.
Although the cap has suffered some dings that resulted in a misshapen bulge, the fit was not affected and it sets firmly onto the jar.
It's a large jar -- about 5" wide and 2 1/4" tall without the cap, about 3 1/4" high with it. The weighty, deep repoussé cap weighs 30.5 grams sterling silver.
The potpourri shown in my photos will be included unless you prefer not.
The jar is cut glass with large, arched facets flowing down its sides. The outer edges of these facets have chips-- mostly small, and one large. They're not really noticeable visually, but can be felt as a roughness at the outermost curve.
